The Secretariat

For the proper functioning of the Tanganyika Law Society a secretariat is established. It is headed by the Secretary who is the Chief executive Officer of the society.

The secretary is appointed by the Governing council as provided for under the provisions of Section 19(1) of the Tanganyika Law Society Act of 1961 as amended (Now Cap. 307 Revised Edition 2002).

The Secretary is assisted in day to day activities by a number of staff in the secretariat. These include programme Officers, Office Messenger, Office attendants, accountants.
